Own a Bit of Romania by the Sea with a Blaxy Resort Timeshare

4

Timeshares are not something common in Romania, on the contrary: this is actually the first I’ve ever heard of, but it looks pretty amazing, especially for those who really love this country and the sea.

There’s a new resort coming – a 5-star resort, actually – that offers timeshares in all price ranges, starting from close to 3,000 Euros, all the way up to 10,000 (meaning that you make this one-time payment and are allowed to stay at the resort every year during the purchased time frame).

Blaxy Resort is its name (and you should read it “Black Sea Resort”) and I’m going to share some extra details below.

At the moment of writing, this unique project in Romania is still under construction, but it will be ready to welcome its guests starting 2015 – so it’s almost done. And it is impressive, a one of a kind in Romania. Here’s how it should look like once everything is up and running:

The Blaxy Resort is located in the 23 August village, which is situated near the popular summer destination Olimp, just 35 km away from Constanta. And it is humongous as it spreads its greatness over 35,000 square meters. It has a 9,000 square meters private beach – blue flag, six pools for adults and two for kids.

Restaurants, clubs, spas and other activities – these are all to be found here so nobody will ever feel the need to even leave the resort. Which is something I always enjoy about a resort.

Here is the presentation video that shows just how amazing the 5 Star Blaxy Resort will be when ready:

This is certainly the first project in Romania (and hopefully not that last) that really raises the quality standard of beach hotels in Romania and by the looks of it, it will be the first resort in the country that could compete head to head against the best resorts in Turkey – the country that more and more Romanians choose because of the extra quality. I’d really love it if things were to change!

You can find out a lot more details about Blaxy Resort on its official page and consul the list of prices here (although it’s in Romanian).

However, the idea is that if you’re not in a hurry and you can spend some money now and accept to enjoy your first 5 star Romanian holiday starting 2016, you would pay a reduced price for one week for life at the peak of the season: 6,500 Euros for the week 25 June – 2 July each year with sea view.

However, have in mind that I didn’t see anything about maintenance fees or other yearly fees so if you are interested, you should make sure you clear that out too as you don’t want to end up paying extra or more than you’d like to.

And if you don’t want to buy a timeshare here, I’m sure you’ll still be able to visit the resort once its built – and I have a feeling that it will be absolutely amazing!

But if you’re in a hurry and you want to start your Romanian vacation this year, I’ve already written an article about the best hotels in Mamaia – the hottest and most popular destination on the Romanian seaside.

What do you think about this? Is this something you’d like to invest in or it’s better to keep vacation money in your pocket and choose your next stay as you go?

  1. Wow! It looks awesome. I don’t see why it would not be able to compete with places like Jamaica etc. The only thing l don’t like are the pools being so close together, so even if the kids were in another pool, you would be able to hear them screaming and having fun..:-) . Timeshares l think are a hard sell in the U.S now, but perhaps they will catch on in Romania. Great post C! Spread the word..

    • I think that it would also get pretty crowded since there seems to be an awful lot of rooms available. But overall it looks nice and if there’s anybody crazy enough to wish for a yearly vacation in Romania in the same place, this is certainly the best choice 🙂

  2. Hi Calin: At first, I thought you’d buy into this, since you are such a real estate mogul–the Romanian Donald Trump;-) I do like the play on words, “Blaxy.”
If I had the spare Lei (;-), I’d rent (or buy if I had A Lot of Lei;-) a cottage and not have to deal with all the confusing “who’s on first?” jazz. You know, the Popescu family may have big plans to go there next weekend, when in fact the Jorgensen family had already booked the suite–yada, yada, yada! And the place just seems waaay too BIG for my tastes. It’s like those big-a** cruise liners. Too many people crammed into limited space with all such of nasty food-borne illnesses, screaming kiddies (NO offense to Toddler Romanian;-), ugly Americans (of course there are no “ugly” Romanians;-), etc. Aargh!
Very interesting article, though;-) Ciao, ~Teil

    • Haha, Teil. My real estate mogul-ness stopped after purchasing the apartment – that’s where all the funds went 🙂 But I thought about it and even if I had the money, I would’ve still say no. The reasons you mentioned are good enough for me to say pass to this too.
