Finding a hotel near the Bucharest Airport (Henri Coanda or OTP) used to be a compromise between convenience and quality, but fortunately things have changed drastically.
We have plenty of options right by the airport – and the ones I will list below are the best of the best. After all, a short stay near the airport can make the difference when you’re catching an early flight or just passing through Romania’s capital.
You’re still a short drive away from the center (expect to pay around €20 (100 RON) for a Bolt or Uber to visit the old town, if there’s time.) Either way, if you are looking for the best places to stay that balance price, proximity, and modern comfort, here is my updated list for 2026, with some fresh new entries!
If you’re in a hurry, here are my top picks. Read on to get all the details and make a more educated choice.
- Hilton Garden Inn – my top choice
- Vienna House Easy – convenience & value
- Ibis Styles – Modern Budget option
- Rin Airport Hotel – Spa & Facilities
- Crystal Palace Hotel – closer to the city
- Pensiunea Casa Verde – best budget option
- Hotel Otopeni – good budget alternative
Note: I’ve included links to these hotels that earn me a small commission if you book through them – at no extra cost to you. My opinions remain unbiased. I’ve chosen these places because I genuinely believe they’re worth your time and money.
Now, let’s find a few more things about my recommended hotels near the Bucharest International Airport Henri Coanda!
1. Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Airport – My Top Choice

If your priority is being as close as possible to the terminal, it can’t get any better (and the quality is amazing, too): the hotel is located directly across from the arrivals/departures area. You can reach it via a paved walkway in about 5 to 10 minutes.
It’s a modern, upscale 4-star property. The rooms are exactly what you expect from a Hilton: reliable, soundproofed, and equipped with high-quality beds.
There is a 24-hour fitness center and an on-site restaurant that serves a great breakfast, which comes in handy if you have a morning flight.
While it is expensive, the lack of “shuttle stress” makes it worth the price, in my opinion and is perfect if you care for nothing but a good night’s sleep near the airport.
Check pricing and availability here.
2. Vienna House Easy

If you want something fancy, but still decently prices, while being close to the OTP Airport, then Vienna House is a solid alternative to Hilton’s offer.
I really like this 4-star hotel because it has soundproofed rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi internet, as well as a minibar, safe and tea and coffee making facilities in all rooms.
The said rooms are spacious, modern and clean, while the beds are extremely comfortable, so you will definitely rest well while there.
They also offer free shuttle service to and from the airport, as well as a lot of other goodies, like a sauna and fitness center, a la carte restaurant, laundry & dry cleaning, and much, much more.
As a plus, this is the closest hotel to the airport on my list, being within walking distance to the terminals. Another reason to appreciate the soundproofed rooms!

3. Ibis Styles Bucharest Airport – The Best New Value

This is the new kid on the block and a significant upgrade over the older budget hotels in Otopeni. It’s colorful, quirky, and feels much more “2026” than the traditional transit hotels.
The rooms are clean and functional, with a focus on “styles,” meaning the decor isn’t just boring beige.
They have a very good restaurant on-site, which is helpful because there aren’t many places to eat in the immediate area. They offer a shuttle service (usually paid), but since it’s so close, a Bolt will only cost you a few Euros.
It’s the perfect middle ground for travelers who want modern amenities without the Hilton price tag.
Check it out here for current rates.
4. Hotel Otopeni – Budget-friendly Alternative

A basic place, which makes it extra affordable, Otopeni Hotel is perfect for you especially if you like red tones (as they have a lot of them!) and are on a limited budget.
The quality of the services and rooms is decent, to say the least – and that’s what matters the most in my opinion.
The rooms are well equipped and clean, with nice bathrooms as well as air conditioning and cable TV. The furniture is and feels cheap, but it serves its purpose and I have no complaints about it.
I also appreciate that they offer free airport transfers, as well as the option to order an early breakfast if you’re leaving early in the morning so you won’t leave on an empty stomach.
I also like that the staff is well trained and can speak good English, while being friendly and helpful if you need them.
It’s also just a stone’s throw away from the airport and it’s also near Water Park Otopeni, one of the biggest water parks in Romania. That’s a fun bonus if you have a free afternoon to relax in the pool before or after your flight (only during the summer).

5. Rin Airport Hotel

If you need even more facilities during your stay, then your best bet is with Rin Airport Hotel – a 4 star hotel that has a beautiful spa area with an amazing indoor pool, as well as hot tub and fitness facilities – all included in the price.
The rooms are huge and nice, with minibar, air conditioning and free WiFi, while the hotel itself has two restaurants and two bars. They also run free airport shuttles every hour at no charge.
Free access to the aforementioned Water Park Otopeni is also provided during the summer – so you get a nice bonus when you book (double check to be sure the offer still stands)!
So overall, you’re getting a real bang for your buck if you choose this hotel. Definitely check it out, as it’s a really, really good hotel that offers everything you may want from a short stay near the Bucharest Airport.

6. Pensiunea Casa Verde

We’re in 3-star territory now, with a very cheap option that’s close to the Bucharest Airport, but a bit farther away than the other recommendations.
Pensiunea Casa Verde translates to “Green House,” and the property is styled to match that name. Think of a warm, wood-accented interior that feels homey and very Romanian, like a cabin in the mountains – as you can see in my photos above.
The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re comfortable and clean. Some folks really enjoy the outdoor area, where you can fire up a barbecue if the weather’s nice.
The biggest problem is that it doesn’t offer a free (or paid) shuttle to the airport, but a taxi or Uber should be unde €10 anyway, so probably not a huge extra expense.

More Bucharest Hotels near the airport
The recommendations above are the closest to the airport, but I still have more for you, if you’re ready to be some 10-15 minutes of driving away from the Henri Coanda airport.
I personally recommend choosing one of the hotels below if you’re spending more days in the city and you don’t need to be within walking distance to the airport. This way, you’re also closer to the main attractions in Bucharest or those in the Old town area.
Crystal Palace Hotel

This is the closest hotel to the city on our list. This is also our favorite hotel – we always stay here when we need to get to the airport at odd hours (and we always seem to fly out at 4AM for some reason).
We actually book the room in the photo above – they replace the chair with a smaller, yet comfortable bed for our son. Awesome!
There’s also a nice desk area just around the corner, but it’s not visible in the photo. The room is huge, clean and the beds comfortable – a pleasure to stay there!
We never had a single problem and always loved the service, the cleanliness… everything.
They are also really modern, while the location itself is extremely silent and close to shops and restaurants – we always walk to the nearby Promenada Mall and enjoy the nice cheap food there (and the delicious ice cream).
All rooms feature free wireless internet, individually controlled air-conditioning, minibar, safe, a flat-screen TV with cable channels and Romania’s famously fast Wi-Fi. Guests have free access to the Health Club, including a fitness center, a sauna and a hot tub.
It’s really the best option if you want to be located in a nice area and still be close to the airport. You’re basically in the middle between Bucharest’s city center and the Otopeni Airport itself.
They also offer airport shuttle service for an extra fee (but you end up paying less if you take a taxi, to be honest – just ask the person at the reception desk to call one for you).
A beautiful hotel that’s my top recommendation if you don’t really need to be within walking distance to the airport (you still have the options above if you do).

Pro Tip: Visit Therme Bucharest
If you have at least a few hours to spare (ideally, half a day to a full day), you owe it to yourself to visit the well known Therme Bucharest. I recommend booking in advance the Entry Ticket with Free Transfer here to avoid any headaches.
Therme is one of the largest thermal spas in Europe – and it’s truly amazing, not just because of its size, located only 10 minutes away from the airport hotels. It is an experience you must try – and if you want to see what to expect, read my article detailing my visits to Therme here.
